How To Check If Your Aadhaar Linked With Bank Account

How To Check If Your Aadhaar Linked With Bank Account

Aadhaar Linked With Bank Account:

Linking your Aadhaar number with your bank account has become very important in India. Many government benefits such as Indiramma housing funds, Rythu Bharosa, and PM-Kisan are sent directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the beneficiary. If your account is not linked, the amount may not get deposited and can even return to the government. To avoid problems, it is necessary to check whether your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account and whether the status is active or inactive.

Aadhaar Linked With Bank Account:

Most government schemes now operate through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This means the money goes only to the account that is verified with Aadhaar. In states like Telangana, even Indiramma housing beneficiaries receive funds only in Aadhaar-seeded accounts. If the link is missing, payments get delayed. Earlier, during loan waiver schemes also, many people had issues due to incorrect Aadhaar bank seeding.

How To Check Aadhaar and Bank Account Link Status Online

You can easily check the status from the official Aadhaar website. Follow these steps:

1. Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/bank-seeding-status
2. Enter your Aadhaar number.
3. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
4. After logging in, click on the Aadhaar–Bank Link Status option.
5. The page will show which bank account your Aadhaar is linked to.
6. It also displays the date when it was linked.
7. If your status shows Active, your account is ready to receive DBT payments.
8. If it shows Inactive, your account will not get any funds.

What To Do If Aadhaar Is Not Linked?

If your Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account, you must complete the process immediately. Many banks allow updating Aadhaar details through their official websites or mobile banking apps. You can check the “Services” section and look for “View/Update Aadhaar Details.”
If the update option is not available online, visit your bank branch. The linking will be done through biometric verification, also known as e-KYC.

Checking the Aadhaar-bank link is a simple step, but very important. Keeping your status active ensures you receive all government benefits without delay. Spending a few minutes online can save many future problems.
