Madvi Hidma: After a confrontation with police on Tuesday, Maoist leader Madvi Hidma, who was in charge of at least 26 armed attacks against civilians and security forces, was slain. The top Maoist leader was reportedly shot and killed in the Alluri Sitharamaraju area of Andhra Pradesh.
Who is Maoist Madvi Hidma?
Hidma, who was born in Sukma in 1981, commanded a People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army brigade in 1996. Hidma soon rose to the position of the youngest member of the CPI Maoists’ highest decision-making body, the Central Committee. In an attack in Chhattisgarh in April 2021 that claimed the lives of twenty-two security personnel, the Maoist leader was also the main suspect. As per the reports, Hidma carried a whopping bounty of 50 Lakhs.

Another Encounter in Sukma:
On Tuesday, a Maoist was encountered in a different encounter in the Sukma area of Chhattisgarh. According to police officers who spoke to the media, an anti-Maoist operation by a group of security men started the gunfight early in the morning on a hill covered in forests.
