Nivin Pauly’s Web series Pharma: The Malayalam cinema actor, Nivin Pauly, is all set for the next big step in his career as he steps into the realm of web series for the first time. The title of the series is Pharma, which would be streamed on Jio Hotstar, which has just unveiled the official “coming soon” poster. The poster features Nivin standing inside capsules with another figure towering above therein hinting at the intense and thought-provoking theme of the show.
Pharma is directed by P. R. Arun famed for the film Finals. The darker side of the pharmaceutical sector is what Pharma delves into. The main character who embarks on his career in his twenties as a medical representative will be followed by the story’s arc. It then highlights ethical violations and manipulative practices that palpably exist beneath the glittery surface of the industry.

The show was shown as a world premiere last year at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, creating curiosity among viewers before its release digitized.
Legendary Bollywood actor Rajit Kapur now adds an important role to this series bringing Rajit time come back to the Malayalam audience after years. His last Malayalam film was Shyamaprasad famous Agnisakshi, for which he even received the Kerala State Award for Best Actor. He does add tremendous gravitas to the project.
The movie has also cinematography by Abhinandhan Ramanujam, background score by Jakes Bejoy, and editing by Sreejith Sarang. The makers have hinted that Pharma will also include a few surprise cast members.
Nivin Pauly earlier said that he was very charged up for Pharma, which he termed a story that needed to be told. Director P.R. Arun has called this project one which has been inspired by hundreds of real-life stories and one he keeps very close to his heart. Rajit Kapur also expressed the excitement he feels with such return to Malayalam screens in a commemorative sense after 25 years since Agnisakshi.
With its touchy issue and strong performances, Farma is going to be one of the most thrilling offerings in Malayalam OTT.
