Suzuki launched its first electric Kei car prototype, the Vision E-Sky, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The release of this mass-market EV is a major move for Suzuki, who has built a reputation based on producing small, efficient cars.
Suzuki’s Vision E-Sky prototype is designed for city driving, and it could be available as a production version before the end of Suzuki’s fiscal year 2026. It’s primary goal is to offer a budget EV option and bring ease to electric driving.
The car’s dimensions follow Japanese Kei car standards measuring 3,395 millimeters in length, 1,475 millimeters in width and 1,625 millimeters in height. Even with compact dimensions, the overall modern style does not feel small outside of the car.
The front has pixel style headlights, and the appeal of the front is increased with C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The side profile has a very simple design with a sloping roof line and flush-door handles into the body panel. Two-tone paint and bold wheel arches increase the style.
The interior is simple & minimal looking packed with light and bright airy space. It employs a tray form dashboard for added storage capabilities; the center console contains a wireless charging pad; and there is a digital instrument display for displaying information to the driver, along with soft ambient lighting to set the mood.
The vehicle has a square steering wheel in the cabin and notably has little physical buttons throughout the interior. Overall the cabin portrays a minimalist feeling, directing the driver to focus on the key information.
Suzuki has yet to disclose the powertrain; but the company has offered a bold claim on range. The EV-SKY will travel over 270 km on one full charge.
Suzuki is making this car for Japan first; the platform may be adaptable to other global markets later – India being a key target. The E-Sky can support small and affordable EVs with increasing demand. Suzuki also has other eco-friendly concepts featured.
