Many people receive random WhatsApp calls daily. These calls often interrupt your important moments. Unknown numbers disturb work meetings frequently. They also disrupt your personal time unnecessarily. WhatsApp offers a simple solution for this issue. You can silence these unknown callers easily.
The feature is called “Silence Unknown Callers”. It mutes calls from unsaved contacts automatically. Your phone will not ring during these calls. The call still appears in your call log. You see a notification for the missed call. This gives you control over interruptions.
This feature reduces disturbances by silencing phone calls from unknown numbers, allowing you to focus on your current activities without interruption. Additionally, you will no longer receive spam calls or unnecessarily promotional calls, and you will still have access to the call history so you may return any important calls at a later time.
Open the WhatsApp application and tap on the three dots in the upper right corner, and select ‘Settings’, then select ‘Privacy’ and go into ‘Calls’ where you will see the setting to turn ‘Silence Unknown Callers’ on. Once you have switched the setting on, it will be active immediately.
You will not hear any incoming calls from unknown numbers, and those calls will show up in your Calls tab as well as appear in the Notification Center without a sound. You will be able to look at the number later to decide whether you would like to call the number back.
Calling or messaging someone changes that person’s call notification settings back to normal – if you are in communication with someone (whether by messaging or calling), you will continue to receive calls from that person as normal. You can only silence unknown callers by blocking their number, and you should check your call history or call log regularly to avoid missing any important calls.
When you block someone’s number, they will not be able to call you, message you, or communicate with you at all. Silencing someone’s call won’t cut off communication altogether; it only silences that number’s call notification. You will still have a record of all the attempts made to contact you from that number, and you can choose the best option for your needs.
This feature enhances your communication privacy. You control who can disturb you. It filters potential spam calls effectively. Your daily routine faces fewer interruptions. Enjoy a more peaceful messaging experience.
