Mohanlal’s Cameo in Jailer 2: The theater showed Rajinikanth in a brand new light and contemporary style and Jailer received worldwide acclaim. Under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar, it turned into one of the blockbusters from Kollywood and grossed over ₹600 crore worldwide. In an understandable manner, expectations for Jailer 2 went sky-high, especially among the Malayali audience, who are all eyes for the rumored look of Mohanlal.
According to a latest IANS report, relying upon industry sources, Mohanlal is expected to shoot for his portions of Jailer 2 this month. It is said that he will be joining for a quick jig tomorrow in a short one or two days schedule and will then be back again on the 21st and continue until the 24th.
The production team has not yet officially announced Mohanlal’s part, but speculation heightened beforehand when director Nelson visited the Malayalam superstar on the sets of Hridayapoorvam. Speculations ran wild that it could mean either an extension or a change in the cameo Mohanlal did in the first film.
The sequel is shaping up to have an impressive cast. Vijay Sethupathi reportedly joined the Goa schedule recently, and filming is currently underway on his scenes. However, the makers have not yet officially acknowledged his role, leaving fans to wonder about the significance of his character.
Rajinikanth has earlier stated that they will finalize filming by December. Shooting operations officially began on May 10 in Chennai and the team has been rolling on through multiple schedules since.
Ramya Krishnan returns as Muthuvel Pandian’s wife, Vijaya, and Mirnaa Menon, who played Swetha Pandian in the first film, is expected to play a more extensive role in this installment. He too is back to give music for the sequel along with Anirudh Ravichander, whose score ended up becoming a great highlight of Jailer.
While waiting with bated breath, fans await the official announcements that shall settle the changing assumptions about the film’s star cast and Mohanlal’s much-discussed cameo.
