Scammers Can’t Steal Your Money Now! Use This Powerful Anti-Fraud Feature

Scammers Can’t Steal Your Money Now! Use This Powerful Anti-Fraud Feature

Google has launched a powerful new security feature in India. This feature aims to protect Android users from financial scams. It is called “In-Call Scam Protection.” The tool helps during suspicious phone calls.

How The New Feature Works

The feature activates during calls from unknown numbers. It monitors for specific user actions. The user might open a banking or payment app. The phone screen then shows an immediate warning alert. This alert makes the user pause and think.

The Added Safety Delay Layer

The feature includes an extra safety step. A user may ignore the first warning. They might try to proceed with the app. The system then imposes a 30-second delay. This delay blocks the app from opening instantly.

Providing A Crucial Thinking Moment

Users are given this brief opportunity to allow them to rethink their actions. They have a timeframe to reevaluate if they may have been a victim of a scam. This timeframe allows them to reflect on their actions before taking hasty action when it comes to financial matters. Scammers tend to pressure victims into making quick decisions about their finances.

Collaboration with India’s Leading Financial Applications

Google is working with India’s leading financial applications. Google has partnered with Google Pay, Paytm, and Navi as partners. The features from Google work directly within these applications. As of now, this partnership is currently being tested as a pilot project to help reduce the increase in cyber fraud.

Technical Requirements For Users

To use this feature, a user’s device must be running Android version 11 or later. Those using older versions of Android will not be able to access this feature. Please update your device to access the latest security options. Google has rolled out this feature only in India. The company is targeting a reported epidemic of scam phone calls there.

A Direct Response to Common Scams

One of the most common ways scammers operate is by impersonating workers from financial institutions. Scammers make phone calls from unrecognized phone numbers to create a sense of urgency. Scammers tell victims to open a payment application. With this new feature, this dangerous scam tactic can be stopped. It creates a barrier between a scammer and their target.

Expected Benefits for Overall Security

By utilizing this new technology, the number of successful financial fraud attempts should be decreased. This technology gives users real-time alerts. Users will now be able to recognize potential scams due to the availability of this technology. It adds a digital layer of common sense. Safety becomes a collaborative effort between user and device.
