Shocking Rise of AI Videos Targeting Children on YouTube

AI Videos Targeting Children:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing very fast across the world. It is helping in many good ways, but it is also creating new problems. A latest report has revealed a shocking issue low-quality AI-made videos are now targeting small children on YouTube, especially through YouTube Kids.

AI Videos Targeting Children:

According to the report, many creators are using AI tools to quickly make videos with fake voices, animated faces, and copied stories. These videos look colorful and attractive, but they do not offer real learning or quality content. The main goal of such creators is not education but money. By uploading large numbers of such videos every day, they earn through ads with very little effort.

Even though YouTube has introduced rules that only high-quality content will be paid, many creators are trying to bypass these rules using AI. They create hundreds of videos in a short time and flood the platform. These videos are mainly aimed at children between 2 and 12 years of age. Shockingly, even children below two years are watching such videos regularly.

A recent report by Bloomberg confirmed that these AI videos have no real quality or creativity. The visuals, sounds, and stories are often repeated and confusing. Another study by Pew Research Center found that more than 60 percent of parents with children under two years said their babies watch YouTube. This has become a serious concern.

Experts believe that too much screen time and poor-quality content can affect a child’s brain growth, language skills, and behavior. Children may also start believing fake content as real, which can confuse them.

Parents are now urged to be more careful. They should monitor what their children watch, use parental controls, and limit screen time. YouTube also needs to take stronger action to stop the spread of harmful AI content.

AI is a powerful tool, but it should be used responsibly especially when it comes to children’s safety and healthy development.
