Samsung launched its first tri-fold smartphone recently. The Galaxy Z TriFold challenges Huawei’s Mate XT. Both devices feature innovative three-screen designs. This comparison highlights their key differences.
Samsung prices the Galaxy Z TriFold at Rs 2.2 lakh. It launches in South Korea on December 12. The phone will reach other markets soon. Huawei’s Mate XT costs around Rs 2.35 lakh. It offers more color choices. Samsung only provides a Crafted Black option.
Samsung’s design is based on a dual-rail inward fold, while Huawei uses the outward-folding mechanism with a single hinge. The Galaxy Z TriFold weighs about 309g .The Huawei weighs slightly less at 298g .Each device has the advantage of easy portability because of compactness.
Samsung’s main display measures 10.0 inches with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz . The cover screen measures 6.5 inches, while the Huawei has a larger unfolded display of 10.2 inches, but has two smaller screens when folded and a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz .
Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy Z TriFold with a new chip manufactured by Qualcomm called the Snapdragon 3nm. Additionally, the Galaxy Z TriFold comes with Android 16 operating system and OneUI 8 user interface. Huawei uses its latest Kirin 9010 chipset for its devices and its newest version of HarmonyOS 4 , and both devices come equipped with 16GB of RAM.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold has a primary rear camera of 200MP . In addition to the primary camera, Samsung has added an ultra-wide camera of 12MP and a telephoto camera of 10MP. The main sensor for the Huawei device has a resolution of 50MP with an adjustable aperture, and the device has also added a periscope telephoto camera with a resolution of 12MP. Both devices include two front-facing cameras; the Galaxy Z TriFold has dual 10MP front cameras.
Both devices have a battery capacity of 5600mAh . Both devices can charge with wired (Samsung – 45W and Huawei – 66W) and wireless (Samsung – 15W and Huawei – 50W) charging methods.
Choose Huawei for faster charging speeds. Pick Samsung for superior software support globally. Consider Huawei for more storage options. Select Samsung for a higher-resolution main camera. Your preference should guide the final decision.
