Huawei is planning an exciting new product launch. The company is developing the Huawei Pura X2. This device will be a unique foldable smartphone. It could arrive in the market in early 2026. A well-known tipster has revealed this information. This phone will feature a distinctive wide-screen design.
The leak comes from tipster Smart Pikachu. He shared this update on the Chinese platform Weibo. His report suggests a specific launch window. The Huawei Pura X2 may debut in the first quarter of 2026. This means a launch between January and March. The company is currently working on this new device.
The Pura X2 has a unique design that sets it apart from the traditional flip phone. Huawei is taking a different approach. The company is creating a vertical foldable phone. This design will feature an exceptionally wide display. The screen will resemble a mini tablet. It will provide users with more space. This extra space will enhance their productivity.
It is likely that Huawei will use its own chipset inside the Pura X2, and that this chipset will be the Kirin 9030. This chipset offers the performance needed to support games and multitasking with a high level of efficiency, as well as to enable advanced features such as those that are used in a professional camera. Additionally, the internal display will be substantially larger than those found in foldable phones today.
The Pura X2 will build upon the previous Pura X model. The previous Pura X model had a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED main display and a 3.5-inch external cover display. With these two displays combined, users were able to quickly access their notifications or view their messages as they were posted. Also, the Pura X had multiple cameras, including a main camera with a resolution of 50MP.
The main camera of the Pura X had an ultra-wide-angle lens with a resolution of 40MP, plus an 8MP optical zoom telephoto camera with a 3.5x optical zoom capability. The device was powered by a 4720mAh battery. It supported 66W wired fast charging technology. It also offered 40W wireless charging speeds.
Huawei’s strategy is clear with the Pura X2. The company wants to redefine the foldable category. It is moving beyond simply making phones fold. The goal is to create a hybrid device. It will function as both a phone and a tablet. This could appeal to professionals and creatives.
