Cyber Crime Trap:

Cyber crime is growing fast and scammers are using smart tricks to cheat innocent people. Recently, many people received fake messages in the name of SBI asking them to update Aadhaar or their bank account would be closed. These messages create fear and force people to act quickly. Once the fake link or APK file is opened, hackers take full control of the phone and steal money within minutes. To stay safe, everyone must know what to do immediately after falling into such a trap.
Cyber Crime Trap:

1. Do Not Believe Urgent and Threatening Messages

Scammers send messages saying your Aadhaar must be updated before midnight or your account will be blocked. These messages look official but are fake. Banks never send such messages through WhatsApp or unknown links. Always stay calm and verify before taking action.

2. Never Install Unknown APK Files

Installing fake APK files gives hackers access to your OTPs, UPI apps, SMS, and screen. They can transfer money without your knowledge. Avoid downloading apps from unknown sources and use only trusted app stores.

3. Turn On Airplane Mode Immediately

If you have already installed the fake app, switch your phone to airplane mode right away. This stops internet access and prevents hackers from continuing their activities on your phone.

4. Inform Your Bank Immediately

Call your bank customer care and ask them to block your net banking, debit card, and credit card. This step can save your remaining money and stop further transactions.

5. Report to Cyber Crime and Secure Your Phone

Register a complaint with the cyber crime department. Change all passwords and reset your phone if required. Never share OTPs or personal details with anyone.
