Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to relaunch the development of the capital city Amaravati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to reinaugurate the development works. Recently, Chandrababu said that in the next 45 days, Rs 1 lakh crore worth of investments will be made in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati. Naidu expressed his intention to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to relaunch infrastructure and development programs in Amaravati.
The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) approved nearly 60 tenders for developing infrastructure of Rs 377.02 billion. These projects will start after the State Cabinet’s approval from March 17 onwards.
Andhra Pradesh Minister Narayana in the Assembly assured the construction of Amaravati will be done by 2028. The development project for it is estimated at Rs 64,721 crores. Narayana slammed the YS Jagan government for mismanagement. “Although 34,000 acres of land was acquired from farmers in just 58 days in 2015, no significant progress was made. However, our government is committed to completing the capital city and has already initiated infrastructure development tenders, ” Narayana said. “The tender process has already been finalized, and developed plots will be handed over to farmers within three years, ” he added.
TDP’s support played a significant role in the BJP forming government, and Modi became the PM for the third time. The recent budget also favoured Andhra Pradesh as thanksgiving. Since TDP’s support is crucial in the coalition government, TDP expects full support from the center.
