PM Modi on Myanmar Earthquake: “India is ready to offer Assistance”

PM Narendra Modi is “concerned” about the consequences of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and left Bangkok severely damaged. Consequently, several Indian towns, including Kolkata and Imphal, experienced tremors.

What Happened:

Two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 6.4 shook Myanmar on Friday at approximately 12:50 PM local time. The epicenter was roughly 16 kilometers northwest of the town of Sagaing. A structure that was still under construction in Bangkok collapsed as a result of the strong vibrations that could be felt in neighboring Thailand.

Many localities experienced terror as a result of the earthquake activity, with people fleeing to open regions in search of protection. Authorities are determining the magnitude of the damage and any possible casualties in Thailand and Myanmar.

Take a look at his Tweet:

He said, “Concerned by the situation in the wake of the Earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. Praying for the safety and well-being of everyone. India stands ready to offer all possible assistance. In this regard, we asked our authorities to be on standby. Also asked the MEA to remain in touch with the Governments of Myanmar and Thailand.”
