Karnataka Government: Considering the heatwaves in the state, Karnataka government has decided to change to office timings. On Wednesday the government has decided to change the timings in some districts.
The updated timings will be from 8 Am to 1.30 Pm in April and May 2025. The State Information and Public Relations Department has said, “Due to the heatwave, the Karnataka government has ordered that government offices in seven districts of Kalaburagi division and Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts of Belagavi division shift their hours from 8 am to 1.30 pm in April and May 2025.”
As summer is going to last from April to June, the temperatures are going to touch the sky. It is reported that the temperature is going to touch more than 45 degrees celisus at the peak moment.

In Karnataka seven districts of Kalaburagi division and also Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts of Belagavi division are going to first change the timings. According to the sources, the government is going to implement this schedule according to the response from the officers and also public. With more heatwave days in central and eastern India as well as the northwest plains, India is predicted to see hotter-than-normal temperatures from April to June, according to an earlier statement this week from the Indian Meteorological Department.
IMD chief Mrutyunjay Mohapatra stated during an online press conference that, except a few regions in western and eastern India where temperatures are predicted to be normal, most of the country will see higher-than-average maximum temperatures. In most areas, minimum temperatures will also be higher than usual.
In the conclusion, he said, “From April to June, most parts of north and east India, central India, and the plains of northwest India are expected to experience two to four more heatwave days than normal.”
According the sources, Almost 14 states are going to experience above normal heatwave in this year. In this apart from Telangana and Andhra Pradhesh Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and many other northern states are also included.
