Ladki Bahin Scheme: The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has not excluded any eligible women, and the amount of help provided under the program has not changed, according to recent clarifications from Maharashtra ministers Ajit Pawar and Aditi Tatkare.

Their answer coincided with rumors that the state government had cut the stipend of eight lakh Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries since they were also getting benefits under the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi (NSMN), another government program. Under its flagship program, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, Maharashtra provided qualified women ₹1,500 per month in cash aid.

Maharashtra Government Clarification:
On Tuesday evening, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar declared that the government’s flagship Ladki Bahin program will not be discontinued.

According to the media sourcses, Pawar stated, “The budgetary allocation for the implementation of the scheme has been made and there is no question of scrapping it.”

Ministry of Women and Child Development:

Aditi Tatkare, the Maharashtra Minister of Women and Child Development, provided clarification on the steps needed in enrolling women in two assistance programs. She responded to the reports by posting on X on Tuesday, stating that 7.74 lakh women who were previously receiving ₹1,000 under another scheme are now receiving the additional ₹500.

Under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, women who do not participate in any other government program receive ₹1,500 each month. “The Ladki Bahin Yojana pays the difference to those who are receiving less than ₹1,500 in benefits under other schemes,” Tatkare clarified.
