PM Modi Escaped From the Pahalgam Terror Attack: Check How?

PM Modi: Four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, including two locals, opened fire on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. Wearing body cams and armed with AK-47s loaded with steel-tipped bullets, they launched a brutal assault. Security sources identified the locals as Aasif Sheikh from Tral and Aadil Thakur from Bijbehara. Authorities believe the other two terrorists, reportedly of Pashtun origin, came from Pakistan. They have links to the Pakistan-based LeT group.

Original Plan:

Sources say the terrorists planned to attack during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Katra on April 19th. The visit was later canceled. Reports also suggest their target was to gun down a group of officers from any intelligence agency or the Intelligence Bureau.

Pahalgam Terror Attack:

The attack lasted around 15 minutes. Survivors said the terrorists asked about their religion. At one point, they forced them to remove their pants for inspection before killing them. The attackers carried body cameras and AK-47 rifles. The incident, which killed 26 people, dealt a major blow to the Narendra Modi administration. In response, the prime minister cut short his Saudi Arabia trip. Following this, they reviewed security conditions at the technical sector of the national capital’s airport upon his return.

Intelligence Bureau Data:

According to internal sources, intelligence indicated that terrorists had been spotted in the surrounding areas. But others dismissed it as just another standard alert that intelligence services issue before such events. Sources explained that they did not expect an assault on tourists, as such acts also harm locals. When asked why no security forces were stationed in the area despite the large number of visitors and the ongoing tourism season. They mentioned that authorities wanted to portray the neighborhood as a safe place rather than one where armed security guards greet visitors.

In the recent update, PM Modi announced that the government would give ₹10 lakh to the families who lost their loved ones. Following this, ₹2 lakh will be provided to those who were seriously injured, and ₹1 lakh will be given to those who escaped the attack with minor injuries.
