Andhra Pradesh unveiled its 2025-26 Annual Credit Plan with an all-time high target of ₹6.6 lakh crore. That is a growth of 22% over the last year’s plan of ₹5.4 lakh crore. The plan will lay emphasis on enhancing agriculture, MSMEs, and infrastructure development under the Swarnandhra Vision-2047.
Priority and Non-Priority Sectors
The budget allocates grants under non-priority and priority heads. ₹4.58 lakh crore will be allocated to the priority sector, i.e., agriculture, MSMEs, education, and housing. Whereas the non-priority sector, i.e., industries and services, will receive ₹2.02 lakh crore.
Government’s Vision and Initiatives
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized support in the form of finances to construct the state. He asked the banks to exceed the target and support initiatives such as the Zero Poverty–P4 model so that an inequality- and poverty-free zone is attained by 2029. Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs will also be established in every constituency by the government for entrepreneurship development.
Banking Sector’s Role
The bankers have pledged to surpass credit targets. Disbursement of credit to weaker sections, self-help groups, and women entrepreneurs is accorded special attention. Disbursement of credit is ensured effectively by the State-Level Bankers’ Committee.
The 2025-26 Annual Credit Plan is a strategic scheme to build the economic development of Andhra Pradesh. With the following financial inclusion, MSMEs, and agriculture at the center, the plan aims at creating wealth, improve infrastructure, and raise the standard of living of citizens in villages across the state.
