Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, is all set to visit Telangana today, May 5, 2025. During this important visit, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 26 national highway projects worth Rs. 5,400 crore. These projects are aimed at improving road infrastructure, reducing travel time, and boosting economic development in the region.
Telangana Today Morning Schedule: Kagaznagar Events: Gadkari will start his journey from Nagpur Airport at 9:00 AM and fly to Sirpur Kagaznagar in Telangana. He is expected to reach Kagaznagar by 10:15 AM and take part in the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
In Kagaznagar, he will launch five major projects worth Rs. 3,694 crore, including:
Road widening between Nirmal and Khanapur (17.79 km)
Four-lane work between Mancherial and Repallewada (42 km) at a cost of Rs. 2,001 crore
4-lane highway from Repallewada to Maharashtra border (52.6 km) worth Rs. 1,525 crore
6-lane underpass at Kadthal on the Nagpur-Hyderabad section
Service road and junction upgrades on National Highway 4
At 11:45 AM, Gadkari will leave Kagaznagar and reach Kanha Shantivanam on the outskirts of Hyderabad by 1:00 PM. He will visit the area until 3:30 PM and then move to the BHEL-Icrisat flyover, which is built at a cost of Rs. 172.56 crore. He will inaugurate this project at 4:00 PM.
By 5:00 PM, the minister will arrive at the Amberpet flyover, a key development in Hyderabad built with Rs. 415 crore. The official opening ceremony will be held at 5:30 PM. Following that, he will address a public meeting at the Amberpet Municipal Grounds at 6:00 PM.
Gadkari will also virtually inaugurate several other projects in Medak and Kamareddy districts. These include:
6-lane underpasses and service roads at Reddypalli, Japthishivanur, Golden Dhaba Y Junction, Tekrial, and Pondurthi X Roads
Underpasses at Padmajivada Junction and Aleru–Jeedikal X Roads on NH-163 (Hyderabad-Warangal)
The minister will also lay foundation stones virtually for seven new projects covering 21 km, costing Rs. 657 crore.
Nitin Gadkari’s visit today marks a major step in Telangana’s road infrastructure development. With these 26 new and upgraded highway projects, the state is expected to witness smoother traffic, better connectivity, and faster economic growth.
