Telangana Transport Minister Assures Support to RTC Employees

Telangana Transport Minister: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has been the lifeline of public transport, transporting millions of citizens within the state. Being a lifeline, there has always been frequent worry about employee well-being, financial status, and working issues that have resulted in unrest among RTC employees. Under the backdrop of increasing tensions, Telangana Transport Minister took office to sort out employee issues and ensure consistent efficiency in services.

Government Commitment to Strengthening RTC

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reiterates that the state government is eager to make the RTC both financially and operationally stronger. Describing the corporation’s uninterrupted turnaround from its previous losses, he assures the staff that they are attempting to enhance work environments, welfare, and the standard of overall service. The government is aware of RTC’s strategic place in public transport and its potentiality. Prabhakar appeals to the stakeholders to join together in forming an integrated transport system that will prove robust.

Fears of Indefinite Strike

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the RTC on May 7 issued a call for an indefinite strike, making 23 core demands such as changes in pay, saving jobs, and better working conditions. While the employees allege matters of concern were being ignored over a long period, Prabhakar cautioned that strike after strike would put passenger services in cold storage and cause unnecessary trouble to the common public. Prabhakar asked the heads of the RTCs to consider constructive discussion instead of shutting down the units. Readiness for Negotiations and Problem-Solving

Joining the call of the hour of urgency, Prabhakar showed that he is ready to sit down and negotiate with union leaders of RTC. He pledged to negotiate openly, with a hope to develop proposals that will serve both commuters and employees. Together, the minister makes sure that policy reforms will bring long-term stability to the sector.

The Future Of TGSRTC

The destiny of TGSRTC depends on a symbiotic interplay between the well-being of workers and organisational viability. Ponnam Prabhakar’s promise of honesty and rational upgradation is one step towards the improvement of grievances and the provision of quality public transport. A lot remains to be done, but positive dialogue and reform can bring in a better, safer RTC for Telangana.
