India’s successful military operation, Operation Sindoor, sent Pakistan into a daze, with the nation in terror and panic. The Operation Sindoor began on May 7, 2025, as a reprisal attack on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK for the April 22 Pahalgam terror strike that killed 26 civilians. Indian Air Force employed Rafale fighters carrying SCALP missiles and HAMMER bombs to deliver precision strikes on nine top-priority terror launchpads of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

India, though, stated the raids were precision strikes and targeted only terror infrastructure and killed more than 100 militants. News now reports Pakistan is now promising to reconstruct terror camps, including LeT headquarters at Muridke, which was one of the main targets.
India’s Strategic Shift
Operation Sindoor is the Indian doctrinal change in counterterrorism operations. In contrast to the earlier operations, the previous operations were targeting cross-border activities, Operation Sindoor probed deeper into Pakistan’s interior and attacked terror hideouts in Punjab province and Bahawalpur. Operation Sindoor also exposed the vulnerabilities of the air defense system of Pakistan, as the Indian forces avoided or dismantled their security networks with no loss.
