China Warns US: China, which considers the self-governing island nation of Taiwan as its territory, is trying to annex it by any means. It is prepared to seize it through military action if necessary. China is warning that anyone who stands in its way in this process will have serious consequences. The country has said that Taiwan is its internal affair and urged other countries not to interfere in this matter. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Zhiyan was furious over the US Defense Minister’s comments that China will block China’s aggression in the Indo-Pacific region. He made it clear that it is inappropriate for the US to bring the Taiwan issue to the fore.

He warned that if the US intervenes in the Taiwan issue, it will be ‘playing with fire’. It is known that the trade war between the US and China is already ongoing. He was incensed by the comments made by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Shangri-La Security Summit in Singapore. Lin Jian said that he had officially protested to Washington through representatives. ‘The US should not use the Taiwan issue as a bargaining chip to control China, if it does, it will be playing with fire’ he said. Similarly, China has ruled out the possibility of military action against Taiwan, while at the same time making it clear that it will not accept any military intervention.

China Warns US: Serious Consequences Ahead?

Speaking at the Singapore Security Conference, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said: “The Chinese military is eager for war against Taiwan. Xi Jinping has ordered the military to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is preparing for a real war by conducting daily exercises.”

China has also reacted strongly to French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments comparing the situation in Taiwan to the war in Ukraine. ‘The Taiwan issue is related to China’s internal affairs. It has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. There is only one China in the world. Taiwan is China’s internal affairs,’ he countered on social media. ‘If Russia occupies Ukrainian territory and the international community does not respond, the same situation may repeat itself in Taiwan,’ Macron warned. The war of words between China and the United States on the Taiwan issue is intensifying. While openly expressing its intention to completely seize Taiwan, the United States is signaling that it wants to block it. This is likely to further escalate the Indo-Pacific security situation. Currently, with China’s deployment of warplanes and ships around Taiwan, there are indications that military action may begin at any moment.
