The controversy arose from Musk’s strong criticism of Trump’s proposed massive spending bill. Musk, who strongly criticized the bill, called for attacks on Republican leaders who supported it.
President Donald Trump also reacted strongly to these comments . In an interview, he warned that Musk would face “very serious consequences” if he did so. However, he did not clarify what those consequences would be. “Why would I go around with him? I have no intention of talking,” Trump said.
