AP launches Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme for Women

Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme: The Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme, one of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s flagship “Super-6” projects, aims to empower women in the state financially. To achieve this, the government will start depositing ₹1,500 monthly into the bank accounts of eligible women aged 18 to 59, beginning January 2025.

At its core, the program strives to provide financial independence to all qualified women. Through this monthly assistance, the government will ensure that women in the targeted age group receive direct cash transfers, offering consistent support to help them manage daily expenses. Moreover, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu appears determined to expand the scheme across the entire state, signaling a broad rollout in the coming months. In addition, the coalition government is fully prepared to launch the Aadabidda Nidhi initiative as part of a broader strategy to uplift women and enhance household income levels. The scheme specifically targets women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families who are 18 years or older.

Under this program, the government will provide ₹1,500 per month, which adds up to ₹18,000 annually, for every selected beneficiary. To access these benefits, eligible women can apply either online or at Meeseva centers. With this well-structured approach, the government aims to strengthen women’s economic position while ensuring transparency and accessibility across all regions.

Application Process:

To register for the scheme, applicants must submit an Aadhaar card, proof of age, and a bank passbook. Through this initiative, the government aims to empower women economically and ensure a steady income stream for families in need.

Furthermore, the coalition government allocated ₹3,341.82 crore in the 2024–2025 budget to implement the Aadabidda Nidhi scheme. Of this amount, the government earmarked ₹1,069.78 crore for BC women, ₹629.37 crore for women from economically weaker sections, and ₹83.79 crore for minority women. In addition, the government reserved the remaining funds for women belonging to SC and ST communities. With this allocation, the government plans to ensure that all eligible women receive benefits under the program based on their social and economic backgrounds.
