Modi Rejects Trump’s Invitation: PM Modi Declines Trump US Invite: It is well known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Canada for the G-7 summit. However, the US President also came there for the same summit. On this occasion, while there was a bilateral meeting between Trump and Modi, Trump immediately returned to his country due to some unavoidable reasons.
Due to this, the meeting between Modi and Trump was canceled. But after that, the two leaders spoke on the phone. In this process, Trump invited Modi to his country. He asked him to come to his country after completing his visit to Canada and returning to India. But Modi apparently said to Trump’s face that he could not come to America and declined the invitation. This was also recently revealed by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
It is well known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Canada for the G-7 summit . However, as soon as Modi returned to India after completing his visit to Canada, Trump invited Prime Minister Modi to come to Washington. Trump has maintained close relations with Prime Minister Modi during his presidency. The two leaders have publicly praised each other on many occasions. However, Modi is currently in his third term as Prime Minister. In this context, he has many prior programs and schedules, both domestically and internationally. This is why he declined the invitation of his friend Trump.
On the same subject, sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said that Prime Minister Modi’s advance schedule is already full and he is scheduled to participate in several important meetings and events in the coming days. They reminded that India is currently focused on many international partnerships and domestic development projects. They said that it is difficult to allocate time for other visits at such a time. They revealed that Prime Minister Modi politely declined Trump’s invitation to visit the US. The sources also indicated that there is a possibility of visiting the US at a convenient time in the future .
Analysts are of the opinion that this incident will not have any impact on India-US relations. They said that the strategic partnership between the two countries will continue and the personal schedules of the leaders will not affect such diplomatic relations. This only means that Prime Minister Modi is giving more priority to domestic priorities as he is now leading his third government. There is also a possibility that Modi and Trump will meet again in the future. But for now, Prime Minister Modi is giving priority to his previous commitments.
