The Indian National Congress celebrated the day by posting emotional birthday wishes and throwback photos of Rahul Gandhi on social media. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge posted on X (formerly Twitter),
“Wishing Shri Rahul Gandhi a very happy birthday. Your unshakeable commitment to hold on to truth and democracy motivates millions. May you keep serving the nation with courage and empathy.”
Senior Congress leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, and Shashi Tharoor also sent their greetings, noting Rahul’s initiative in highlighting people-related issues and reaching out to grassroots communities through the Bharat Jodo Yatra and other initiatives.
Opposition and Allies Send Wishes
Notwithstanding political differences, a few opposition party and UPA ally leaders went on social media to greet Gandhi.
Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party tweeted: “Wishing Rahul Gandhi good health and happiness on his birthday.”
Sharad Pawar, seasoned NCP leader, sent his wishes and remembered their joint efforts to promote democratic principles.
M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader, also wished Rahul on his birthday, appreciating Rahul’s dedication in fighting for secular and inclusive politics.
BJP Leaders Join In
In a gesture of politeness, some BJP leaders even posted wish messages in a neutral tone.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari put up: “Birthday wishes to Shri Rahul Gandhi. May he live long and stay healthy.”
Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a statesmanlike gesture, tweeted: “Best wishes on his birthday to Rahul Gandhi.”
Hashtags such as #HappyBirthdayRahulGandhi, #RahulGandhi55, and #BharatJodoLeader trended on all platforms. Congress workers posted photos, video footages from public rallies, and glimpses of his padyatras. Most complimented his increasing connect with the youth and rural populations.
