Top 10 Richest Chief Ministers in India 2025

Richest Chief Ministers in India: Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu has achieved a rare feat. He has become the richest Chief Minister in the country. At the same time, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is at the last position with the lowest assets. This information was revealed in a report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Friday (August 22). The total wealth of 31 Chief Ministers in India is Rs. 1,630 crore, and the average wealth of each Chief Minister is Rs. 52.59 crore, the report said.


 

According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emerged as the richest Chief Minister in India. His total assets are worth over Rs. 931 crore. Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu is in second place. Pema Khandu’s total assets are worth Rs. 332 crore. The report revealed that these two are the only billionaires among the 31 Chief Ministers of the country.


 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is at the bottom of the list of Chief Ministers with the least assets. Didi’s assets are only Rs. 15 lakh, according to the 2021 Bhowanipore by-election affidavit. The average wealth of a Chief Minister is Rs. 52.59 crore, the report says. While India’s per capita net national income in 2023-2024 was about Rs. 1,85,854, the average income of a Chief Minister is Rs. 13,64,310, which is 7.3 times more than the average per capita income of India.

 

ADR Coordinator Ujjaini Haleem said that the rising election expenses in the country are making it more difficult for candidates with low incomes to contest. He commented that money plays a key role in elections, election expenses are increasing, and it is becoming difficult for a candidate to contest. He said that he has comprehensively analyzed the assets of the country’s Chief Ministers and their election expenses.
