Salman Khan BRS Member: All eyes are on the BRS party’s strategy to secure victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. In a surprising turn of events, a rowdy sheeter named Salman Khan has joined the BRS, donning the party’s pink scarf.
Salman Khan reportedly has 25 criminal cases registered against him. What’s raising eyebrows is that KTR himself welcomed him into the party, personally presenting the BRS scarf and even praising him as a “national reformer, young leader, and future great leader.”
Who Is Salman Khan?
Salman Khan is the founder of Hyderabad Youth Courage, through which he carried out several local activities. However, his record includes multiple serious charges, including cases under the POCSO Act and PD Act, totaling 25 cases, most of which were filed during the previous BRS government’s tenure
Now, the same man has become significant for the party. KTR’s public gesture of welcoming him has drawn sharp criticism online, with netizens slamming BRS for “giving space to a rowdy sheeter for political gain.”
From Critic to Party Member:
Interestingly, Salman Khan was once a strong critic of KCR and KTR. He had accused them of encroaching on minority lands and even released videos alleging irregularities during the BRS rule. Back then, he was seen as an outspoken opponent of the party. Despite his controversial background, BRS is now banking on his local influence in Jubilee Hills to gain support in the by-election. Critics claim the party is “ready to go to any extent for votes.”

BRS Focuses on Minority Votes in Jubilee Hills:
During the Jubilee Hills by-election, KTR seems determined not to miss any opportunity. Salman Khan had earlier filed his nomination as an independent candidate, but the authorities later rejected it. Soon after, he officially joined BRS. Reports suggest that KTR’s move aims to attract minority votes, especially since the MIM is backing Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the same constituency. With MIM’s support shifting towards Congress, BRS is trying to retain its ground by using Salman Khan’s influence among local youth.
Adding to the party’s challenges, recent controversies involving Maganti Gopinath’s wife, Sunita, have dented its image. To counter this, BRS is reportedly focusing more on boosting its party symbol and name rather than the individual candidate. Netizens, however, are criticizing the party’s strategy, saying Salman Khan’s induction shows BRS’s desperation for votes, regardless of the candidate’s past.
