YSRCP leader demands Inquiry into Liquor Policies and CBN’s Tax Issues

YSRCP leader demands Inquiry into Liquor Policies and CBN’s Tax Issues

A major political fight has started in Andhra Pradesh between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) over liquor policies. TDP MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu recently claimed in Parliament that a massive liquor scam took place in the state even bigger than the collections of the blockbuster film “Baahubali.” He accused the ruling YSRCP of large-scale corruption in the liquor business.

Reacting to these allegations, YSRCP leader Perni Nani challenged TDP to agree to an investigation into liquor policies under different governments. He proposed examining:

– Liquor policy during TDP’s rule (2014-2019)

– Liquor policy under YSRCP

– Liquor dealings under the current coalition government

Nani said such an investigation would expose the real truth about corruption in the liquor business.

Nani’s Attack on Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu

Perni Nani also strongly criticized Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu for his statements. He said Devarayalu, who was once a YSRCP MP, never spoke about liquor corruption when he was in YSRCP. But after joining TDP, he suddenly started making false accusations.

Nani accused Devarayalu of acting on the orders of TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu and trying to gain political benefits by spreading fake information.

Liquor Scam Allegations

Nani further alleged that:

– Under both TDP and the coalition government, distilleries were forced to pay extra money which was later taken as bribes by leaders.

– Liquor stores across the state are under the control of coalition leaders who use threats to take over businesses.

– TDP MLAs have forcefully taken liquor shops, even those meant for toddy tappers’ societies.

Income Tax Notice to Chandrababu Naidu

Nani also demanded answers about the Income Tax notices given to Chandrababu Naidu. He questioned why:

– Companies involved in capital construction (2014-2019) sent ₹2,000 crore to anonymous bank accounts linked to Naidu’s PA Srinivas.

– The Income Tax department suddenly stopped its investigation.

Nani asked TDP leaders to respond to these serious corruption charges.

This fight between TDP and YSRCP shows the deepening political rivalry in Andhra Pradesh. Both parties are accusing each other of corruption and misuse of power in the liquor industry. It remains to be seen whether an official investigation will take place.
